Poll Finds Local TV News Most Trustworthy

Confirming a long trail of perplexing findings, the latest Pew Center poll on the public's attitude toward the press finds that local television news--that ratings-driven journalistic nightmare--is trusted by more people than any other news platform. Baffling, especially since corporate "video news releases" are aired, often unedited, at local stations across the country.

But did the poll ask any questions generalizing content? I think people trust the news from local stations concerning LOCAL ISSUES.
I believe people think the national media is jaded, more profit driven than local. Even though Local news is profit driven also, I believe they are more focused on community service.

I'd agree w/ Chris. My experience with Channel 69 during the last presidential contest impressed the hell out of me. The news director there, and his name escapes me, is very serious about getting things right.
